Heritage Weekend Saturday 12th September 2015

The weekend of the 12th -13th September is Heritage Weekend. Prestwich and Whitefield Heritage Society are providing two guided tours / explanations of the Prestwich Timeline. The tours will take place at 10 am and 11.30 am. The Timeline was produced by the Heritage Society in 2012. It tells the story of Prestwich through key events and dates. The Prestwich Timeline is a mix of drawings, photos, maps etc. It has been described as “visually stunning”. The story it illustrates runs from earliest times until 1974, when Prestwich was swallowed up by Bury. The Timeline is upstairs in the Longfield Library.

In addition to this the Society will have an information stall in the foyer of the Library that Saturday morning.
