Stand Old Hall Dig Report

In the Summer of 2009 the Society’s Archaeological section investigated the remains of Stand Old Hall. The historic home of the de Pilkington family, Lords of Pilkington and Bury. The site is at the junction of Stand Lane and Ringley Road in Whitefield. The Report describes the Hall itself and the issues the diggers investigated.
