Christmas Buffet 2015

Prestwich and Whitefield Heritage Society

The annual Christmas Buffet took place on Saturday 12th December at the Church Inn in Prestwich.

The members met for pre-lunch drinks and then had an excellent buffet provide by Kay. There was then a Quiz with 42 questions provided by Derek Russell and Geoff Bromage. The quiz was keenly contested with two teams vying for first place on 35 and 34. One question which proved a brain teaser was supplied by Derek. “If a brick weighs 7 lbs and half a brick, how much does a brick and a half weigh ?”

Acting Chairman David Stanley went through the answers. The big raffle followed that with many prizes distributed. Then it was time for home. Our thanks go to Sheila Helman for organising the event and to Tom and Kay Gribben of the Church Inn. Our late Chairman, Jack Barrett, was sadly missed. Heritage Society activities resume on 20th February with a talk about Radcliffe Tower. or follow us on Facebook.
