Clarke’s bakery

Hello

I’m researching my family history and cannot find any further information on an ancestor past the 1939 census and I wondered if you or your members may be able to help.  I haven’t been able to find a death for him and wonder if local knowledge may be able to help as he ran a bakery in Whitefield and maybe I can trace him from there.  My relative – Charles Clarke was listed as a Master Baker & Confectioner at 298-300 Bury New Road, Whitefield along with his wife Doris and his sister Annie.  Can anyone tell me how long the shop was there for and what may have happened?  He changed his name to Clarke from Fouchard (I think because he was a conscientious objector in WW1) and was originally from Pemberton.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks
